Our Mission

805160650_img_3329To be the best ski jumping, cross-country and Nordic combined ski program in the United States

Our Vision

To provide the leadership to develop and maintain a comprehensive Nordic ski program of excellence at all ages and abilities by creating opportunities for youth and community to achieve their potential.

History

The National Sports Foundation (NSF) was incorporated in June 1993 to provide a core group of volunteers to assist in the successful operation of the ski jumping and NC events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and to provide an ongoing program that would ensure the continued use of the legacy facilities created for the games. Through the years, the NSF has become a leader in Nordic sport development and has become the number one ‘farm team' for the United States Ski Team.

The foundation operates the non-profit entity with a volunteer board of trustees whose primary responsibility is to provide financial support while overseeing the general operations of the club. Parent representation cannot exceed non-parent members. Today, in order to provide a greater reference to both the activities provided by the foundation and it's location of operation, the Board of Trustees acknowledged a new brand identity: Park City Nordic Ski Club. Today, members participate and represent the Park City Nordic Ski Club (PCNSC). The PCNSC is owned and operated by the National Sports Foundation.

In addition to providing quality athletic programs, the NSF works diligently in the areas of fundraising and event hosting. Using the expertise from supporting the Olympic Games operation, the National Sports Foundation, hosts local, national and international skiing competitions annually. The nation's single largest ski jumping event, the Springer Tournee, is held each summer at Utah Olympic Park.

The National Sports Foundation works in harmony with the Utah Athletic Foundation/Utah Olympic Park, the United States Ski & Snowboard Association, the Youth WinterSports Alliance, as well as Nordic skiing programs across the United States.
